दश नमस्कार

Prathamo No Namaskaarah, Prachodanaaya Mitraaya Namastejogolakaaya

|1| प्रथमो नो नमस्कारः, प्रचोदनाय मित्राय नमस्तेजोगोलकाय

॥१॥ My first salutation is to rising Sun, who is glorious bright ball of brightness.

 

Dwiteeyo No Namaskaarah, Vishaalaakaashatatvaaya Nama Onkarnaadaaya

|2| द्वितीयो नो नमस्कारः, विशालाऽकाशतत्त्वाय नम ओंकारनादाय

॥२॥ My second salutation is to element of Space, which is symbolized by sound of omkar

 

Truteeyo No Namaskaarah, Tasmai Vaayave Devaaya Namah Sparsha Tanmaatraya

|3| तृतीयो नो नमस्कारः, तस्मै वायवे देवाय नमः स्पर्श-तन्मात्राय

॥३॥ My third salutation is to the God of Wind/Air, who has a spreaded presence (Tanmaatra) and can be felt through a pleasant touch.

 

Chaturtho No Namaskaarah, Tasmai Varunadevaaya Namo Jagatposhakaaya

|4| चतुर्थो नो नमस्कारः, तस्मै वरुणदेवाय नमो जगत्पोषकाय

॥४॥ My fourth salutation is to the God of Rain/Water, the one who nourishes the entire Universe.

 

Panchamo No Namaskaarah, Ratnagarbhaayai Dhaarinyai Nama Aadharbhootayai

|5| पञ्चमो नो नमस्कारः, रत्नगर्भायै धारिण्यै नम आधारभूतायै

॥५॥ My fifth salutation is to the Earth, which has precious stones in her womb and is the one who gives eternal support to human beings.

 

Shashtho No Namaskaarah, Asyai Bhaaratajananyai Swaabhimaana pratimaayai

|6| षष्ठो नो नमस्कारः, अस्यै भारतजनन्यै स्वाभिमानप्रतिमायै

 ॥६॥ My sixth salutation is to Bharat Mata who takes the form of our self-esteem.

 

Saptamo No Namaskaarah, Janani-Janakaabhyaam Namah Snehprerakaabhyaam

|7| सप्तमो नो नमस्कारः, जननी-जनकाभ्याम् नमः स्नेहप्रेरकाभ्याम्

॥७॥ My seventh salutation is to my Mother and Father - who inspire and instil in us the feeling of affection.

 

Ashtamo No Namaskaarah, Asmai Vidyaadaayakaaya Aatmagyaana Bodhakaaya

|8| अष्टमो नो नमस्कारः, अस्मै विद्यादायकाय आत्मज्ञानबोधकाय

॥८॥ My eighth salutation is to my teacher who is in the service of knowledge and who imparts knowledge leading to self-realisation.

 

Navamo No Namaskaarah, Brahmaroopa Dehasthaaya Moortabhaava Chaitanyaaya

।9। नवमो नो नमस्कारः, ब्रह्मरूपदेहस्थाय मूर्तभाव-चैतन्याय

॥९॥ My ninth salutation is to my own body which is a form of Brahma and is the awakened cognizance.

 

Dashamo No Namaskaarah, Divyaaya Digmandalaaya Puromargadarshakaaya

|10| दशमो नो नमस्कारः, दिव्याय दिग्मण्डलाय पुरोमार्गदर्शकाय

॥१०॥ My tenth salutation is to all the directions and to the sky and to the one who shows us the path to progress ahead on.
